My Story

Hi, I'm Melissa Chalky, founder of Adelina Candle Co.

In 2024, I started Adelina Candle Co. with something simple but deeply meaningful in mind-creating candles that feel like home, and honoring the woman who helped shape the person I am today: my grandmother, Adelina. This business carries her name, but more importantly it carries her spirit. She was kind, grounded, and full of love in a way that made people feel seen, welcomed, and cared for. I've always wanted to build something that reflected that same feeling.

What began as a creative outlet quickly turned into something much more personal. Candle making became my way of slowing down, creating with intention, and turning everyday scents into memories people can hold onto. Every candle is hand-poured by me in Youngstown, Ohio, with care, patience, and attention to detail. I don't take shortcuts-because I know these candles aren't just products. They're part of someone's home, their routine, their moments of peace.

Adelina Candle Co. is also rooted in giving back. I've always believed a business should be part of its community, not separate from it. Through local fundraisers and our new Lit For a Cause collection, I try to use what I've built to support others whenever I can. As this brand grows, so does my dream of opening a mobile candle boutique and eventually a small candle and gift shop in Youngstown-somewhere warm, welcoming, and filled with intention.

More than anything, I want Adelina Candle Co. to feel personal. When you light one of my candles, I hope it brings comfort, nostalgia, or a quiet moment, just for you. And I hope, in some small way, it carries forward the same love that inspired it all in the first place.
